Network alert - Hurricane Hilary

8/19/23

Hard Deck Logistics is actively monitoring Hurricane Hilary. While it remains too far out to anticipate the impact as it relates to the ports in Southern California, officials at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach are preparing. There is extremely heavy rainfall forecasted for this Sunday. Hilary grew to a category 4 strength off of Mexico’s Pacific Coast Friday. This could be the first tropical storm to make landfall in Southern California in 84 years, or, it may make landfall over Mexico/Baja. There is a chance for heavy flooding due to the rainfall not only for Mexico/Baja, but potentially also for Southern California and even other parts of the Southwestern USA.

The Captains of the Ports for US Coast Guard sectors San Diego and Los Angeles/Long Beach are actively monitoring the situation but as of shortly ago, had not issued any official port condition warning upgrades.

As with any weather event, there is no telling the final path however the purpose of this alert is to keep our subscribers and the general public proactively informed of any potential disruptions to supply chains. Hard Deck Logistics will continue to follow this developing situation.

Sincerely,

CEO Hard Deck Logistics
