What are the 3 most important factors shippers need to consider when choosing a transloader? (Mike Kershaw)

Mike Kershaw (1)

  1. Experience—Talk to people that use transloads to find out which transloads have been around the longest. New guys work hard but can be inexperienced.

  2. Service—Talk to people using the transload and find out what kind of service is offered. Too many people are in a situation where they have to use a transload because it is on the railroad they use.

  3. Knowledge—Can the transload discuss all nuances of your business such as equipment, railroads, truckers, rates, etc., and not just how much does it cost to transload?
