I am not a transloader, I am a transload consultant. I work with all types of transloads and commodities. I haven’t seen any “new” commodities on the scene.
I have worked with some rare commodities such as dimensional, over-weight shipments, one-time moves, and hazmat moves. I have seen loads welded to the car and cut off at the destination. I have seen loads that required a rider, meaning a person that rode in the locomotive from origin to destination. There are unit trains of commodities that did not move that way before, such as steel coils.
