2020 has been difficult at best without face-to-face conferences. Personally, it has required a more intense outreach effort.
At a conference, you can talk to 50 or more people in two days. It takes a couple of weeks to try to connect with that many people via email or phone conversations. With everyone working remotely, time has become a more valuable commodity. As a Consultant or Business Development person, I have had to be very diligent and almost take a surgical approach to reach out to old, current, or potential clients.
Bottom line, it has made changes in communication skills, which is a good thing. But it also has forced everyone to up their game in communication.
